Is anyone looking forward to it? I'm so excited that I'm scared beyond belief and I pray that it's not an origin story or a re-imagining.
if this was Appleseed I wouldn't mind cause I'm used to disappointment; afterall Appleseed has yet to have a solid release that does justice to he themes suggested in the manga in the same sort of way that Oshi did with Gits.
Gits has always had a great story and focus from Shirow to Oshii to Kenji and hopefully Kise who directs Arise provides the atmosphere and the thought provoking story that we are use to in GITS.
To be completely honest I don't like the title it feels like a quantum of solace moment buts that unimportant. fingers crossed.
what do you guys think about Arise, excited, sceptical or world you have preferred a 3 movie from Oshi or maybe a 3rd season to SAC.

I'm strangely excited after seeing the promo and scouring the forums. The art style is not only different to the normal gits franchise, but production I.G as a whole. The art style they started with in blood: the last vampire and subsequently in gits has been abandoned. Many don't like this, but I want to give it a chance, keeping to the same artstyle might have made things lacklustre and a fresh take will gather new fans to the series and make it more mainstream.
I think saying that it sucks already without even seeing it is rash, gits has always had a standard and I think it will be maintained. I cant wait to see it. 😳

To be honest I am tired of all the scifi manga getting animes. Most of them don't have any story value especially when it comes to the anime version. Off course this isn't only with scifi because now a days nearly all anime are like that.
I could be wrong about GITS : Arise. Watching the trailer it seems like it does have some story value.

The new film, tentatively titled Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, is produced in celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary. If anyone is confused. Koukaku Kidoutai Arise - Nemuranai Me no Otoko Sleepless Eye is a canon prequel told form Batou´s perspective and later parallel story to the OVA and needs to be read alongside the OVA to get the whole story.

So this makes more sense now:
