The male lead was acceptable. His behaviour was very humble and kind, but nevertheless he never strayed from the cliché route. I felt that his whole conflict with his family was so pointless, that it made you think why it was dragging so long when no one of his family never even did anything that bad to incur his wrath. At the beginning till the end, this whole thing was just your usual shoujo fluff with nothing big really happening.

the characters are deep, conventional yet with actual feelings, thoughts and reaction. I read this in a total of 7 times in the 3 periods of my life: whe I was 14, 20 and 25. Heart still aches every time.

Hana Kimi is in my on-hold list like about...5 years or so. during that time i picked it up several times. imo that manga it's not suited for readers with insufficient patience for shoujo manga.

The story dragged on for too long, maybe due to lack of progress in the relationship(s). If there were more humor or even significant events, perhaps it would have been more enjoyable.

Mizuki's constant doubts slowly grew to be grating. I can understand being naively obtuse as part of a character but her level was over 9000, causing me to dislike her more and more. It didn't help too that either through pretending things are okay or because things went right over her head, she ended up hurting people around her. All these may even be tolerable if not for my next point.

My main grouse would be the art going downhill. Somewhere around Vol. 19 or 20, Mizuki actually got uglier. Unfortunately, the boys also went the same way come Vol. 21 or 22. I still finished everything but it wasn't easy with that retrograde art.

This is my favorite gender bender manga ever, i have read this manga at least 4-5 times already. The mc personality is good and so is the main guy, the only weird character is nakatsu.....but thats just because of certain reasons hahaha, i admit, he can be very funny at times. The humor in this manga is great too, and apart from that, all the other characters are very likeable.

This was the first manga I ever read and finished, about 8 years ago now. I still think about it now and is still one of my top favourites! I sometimes wish I had never read it so I could read it all over again and get all excited, y'know? Its definitely a classic and totally unforgettable

The only thing that would have made it better is if I had gotten to see my dear first knight in a dress, with long hair and her true love dancing!

Short and simple, this is a great manga EXCEPT if they did not drag on starting around volume 17ish and making the end crap. The story is pretty nice, although somewhat cliche as you already know what's going to happen in the end. There was some emotional and omgwtfbbq moments but they all exist in the beginning. Then it starts to drag out and goes on and on and it was not all emotional relevant; it just simply lost it charms. Especially the ending :
Good manga, but dont expect much as you read further into the story, I recommend you just read the first like 15-17ish volumes n drop it when it gets boring n read the rest from a summary on wikipedia or something cause it just aint worth it.

I liked it. I haven't read many gender benders before but it is handled very well in this manga, I really enjoyed it. There was a part that got boring (the track meet "arc"), but it only lasted 2-3 volumes, so it was fine. The art was a little bothersome at first but I got used to it and it was very good in the end. I'm not going to say that it dragged on (it didn't! it was very enjoyable) but there isn't that much of a plot or conflict or drama. It's worth reading, but if you're looking for something with a lot of drama, then this probably isn't it. I'm not really adding much but her job in the end was a bit lame. .___. Also, I feel like we never learn enough about Sano's high jump and how he does in the future and the story just didn't have enough of it, even though I said it was boring. Yeeeah. It was cute though, and I would recommend it. The ending was decent. It wasn't bad and it leaves you feeling complete, but it lacked a bit of pizzaz.
