Beautiful (pair) group of idiots

This is a clichê story.
One of those when one of the main leads fall in love at first sight with the other's face and then discovers they were a guy.
I normally would rate this kind of story a 6,0 because it is pretty average but...
I love the friendship and how all the friends are idiots but different kinds of idiots. And the MC, even though he is the biggest idiot of all,

really thought about his own feelings, and realized he was in love, and accept it .
Well, so it is higher than six because of the dynamic between the characters(the couple and friends), there is a good amount of denial, and the development of characters "idiots' that are really different among themselves.
It is eight because the homophobic reaction was too high and not constructive.

One of those "I'm not gay, but this is an exception" sorts of BLs. A bit heavy on the anti-gay crap, but ultimately not unbearably bad once the first person started to realize their feelings. It seemed fairly realistic in that regard, that other students thought it was gross and teased them. I felt that the overall story was enjoyable, I'd probably be up for rereading it at some point.

It was just WAY too homophobic. The idea of two straight guys falling for one another could be cute, but it was so freaking “no homo” that it just made me want to pull out everyone’s hair. That’s lazy at best. And it was not best.

A quick, light read about adolescent romance with fun and cute characters set in a typical high-school background. The story could be a bit too thin at times for me, or too fast at other times. But still enjoyable to an extent. It's very 'safe', really, so there's not much wrong that it can do. Though more proper development on the characters' side would be much appreciated. And a redo of that cover art too!
